Setting Preferences | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Opening the Preferences Dialog Change the preferences by selecting the Edit >> Preferences… menu item. The preferences dialog appears as shown above with the following options:
Tablature can be upside-down Normally your sequences will appear with the low string at the bottom. If you reverse the strings on the guitar the low string normally continues to appear at the bottom. To allow the low string to be displayed at the top, enable this option.
Play In Background Normally the music will stop when you switch to the Finder or another application while FretPet is playing a composition. This option allows FretPet to continue playing when it is switched out.
Verbose MIDI Output When you export MIDI files they are normally written in "Running Mode," in which the command bytes are omitted whenever they would be redundant. Check this option if your sequencer software doesn't know what to do with these files. (Should never happen!)
At Startup… Display Title Window Turn this off to get to work quicker. You can still contemplate the floating notes by selecting About FretPet… from the Apple Menu. New Empty Document Select this option if you want a new empty document to be automatically created each time you run FretPet.. Open File Dialog Select this option if you want a file dialog to appear automatically each time you start FretPet. Do Nothing Select this option if you want neither an empty document or a file window to appear when you start FretPet.
